Scott Drayco, former FBI agent and concert pianist, takes on criminal cases that are unsolved by local authorities and the FBI His current case involves the murder of people with disabilities in the Washington D.C area when he gets a phone call from his friend Maida Jebson who needs help She s the owner of a bed and breakfast, a fantastic cook, lay minister, and amateur would be sleuth. Her young friend Virginia, who uses a wheelchair, was pushed into traffic and almost killed Maida and Virginia [...]

    4. Solid book 2 I enjoy Scott Drayco and this quaint town I was a little disappointed that beautiful descriptions that were in Book 1 were not as prevalent in this book I missed connecting to the characters It was plot focused, which is fine, but a little less enjoyable I hope Book 3 has a better balance The whodunnit is interesting and tied into the small town s history and secrets as only a small town can have My favorite relationship is between Drayco and Sailor what a great bromance The author [...]

    5. Yet another puzzlerI didn t remember that I would need to make notes whilst reading another B V Lawson book because the plots, twists and turns were epic for me I read only a few pages before sleeping but when I got to 80% had to finish the book wide awake and in one shot I would be very surprised if a reader guessed all that was going on before the penultimate pages.

    6. An excellent follow up to the first in the series, Played to Death I found the plot twists interesting while the characters remain strong Continue to appreciate both the strong women and the importance of the Chickering.

    7. UnexpectedEnding to the story was not what I expected With every twist and turn of the plot the author kept me guessing great story.

    8. I fell in love with Drayco in Requiem for Innocence Not only is he a great detective but also a caring friend, and doesn t want just anyone to blame Only the one guilty. While in Cape Unity Drayco meets Virginia, a 12 year old wheel chair bound beautiful girl who is feared to be targeted for murder At first he believes this is only an accident and those that believe otherwise are nuts, or just too protective After many unfolding tangles and secrets this small community is turned upside down.Durin [...]

    9. Up front, I liked the book.Upsides The Protagonist, Scott Drayco, has potential as an on going character World class pianist, eidetic memory, synesthete, private investigator Complex characters add so much to the overall feel of a book This being said I would recommend reading book one in the series first This is something I did not do There are constant references to the first book in this one Hard to put context onto a character without this additional information I can only surmise how these [...]

    10. Ms Lawson has written a well thought out and interesting mystery, with a good story line and excellent character development She has woven together intriguing characters, unexpected twists and turns, and complicated relationships The story started out slow but quickly picked up and turned out to be an engrossing story that kept me guessing who the villain was until the very end As with the first book in this series, the plot is somewhat complex and it kept me on my toes and held my interested Un [...]

    11. Good mystery Scott Drayco is on the case again While he is investigating a series of murders on disabled people in D.C he is called regarding an attempt on the life of a teenage girl in Cape Unity Could the latest attack be somehow related to the series of murders in D.C What Drayco uncovers in Cape Unity stretches back many years into the past I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    12. This book has a great plot that keep you fully engaged until the end The characters are wonderful we revisit several of them from the first book and are introduced to several in this book This is the second book in the series but it easily stands alone Can not wait till my next visit to Cape Unity I was provided with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    13. NICE TIDY LITTLE MYSTERY A BIT OLD FASHIONED FILM NOIR KINDA SLOW AND BORING FOR ME LOT OF TALKING ABOUT THINGS I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO KNOW SO MANY SUSPECTS characters IT WAS NT EASY TO FIGURE OUT WHO DONE IT AND HARD TO KEEP UP WITH WHO WAS WHO I DID LOVE SCOTT DRAYCO HE IS SO SMART WHICH MAKES HIM EXTREMLY SEXY, BRAINS ARE SUCH A TURN ON.

    14. As I said of book one, this is not your usual gumshoe murder mystery Great characters and character development Lots of musical references that make me want to pause and put the music on The story had me guessing until the very end I have the third Scott Draco story in my reading queue.
